Welcome Letter from the Principal

Dear Northeast Families,

 

🎉 Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Northeast Elementary! 🎉

We are SO excited to welcome our students and families back for another year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and lots of Viking pride! Our Northeast staff has been working hard since June to prepare for an amazing school year, and we are ready to get started. We truly believe that when our school, families, and community work together, our students thrive!

🏫 Come See Us at Open House!

We can’t wait to see everyone at our Open House on Tuesday, August 25th, from 5:30–7:00 PM! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, visit their classroom, ask questions, and get everything you need to start the year off successfully. We will have a few community vendors here that you may find useful. If you are planning to use the pick-up line to get your student at the end of the day, this is a great time to get your pick-up number. 

🖤🧡 Families Are an Important Part of Northeast!

One of the highlights of last school year was the incredible connection we built with our families. This year, we’re excited to continue growing those relationships through Family Nights, student showcases, special events, and other opportunities to be involved in your child’s school experience.

Be sure to join us for our Principal’s Coffee Hour, where families can enjoy a light breakfast, connect with school leadership, ask questions, and talk about all things Northeast!

🎨🎶🏃‍♀️ So Much to Explore!

We are thrilled about the opportunities our students will have through our Specials classes this year! Students will experience hands-on learning in STEAM, express their creativity through music, and build teamwork and healthy habits through physical education.

⭐ Building a Strong School Community

At Northeast, we want every child to feel safe, valued, included, and ready to learn. We will continue to build our positive school culture through programs such as PBIS, Stars Viking Values, Attendance Awards, Restorative Circles, and Social-Emotional Learning.

 

🚗 Important Arrival & Dismissal Reminders

Morning Drop-Off:
Doors will open at 8:15 AM ( This is a time change from last year’s 8:10) . For the safety of all students, please keep your child in your vehicle until staff members signal that it is time to exit the vehicle. During the first week of school, kindergarten parents will be able to walk their students to the cafeteria. The following weeks, we have staff members who can help them get to their designated area.

Afternoon Pick-Up:
Pick-up numbers will be distributed at Open House. Beginning August 31st, anyone picking up your child will need to use your assigned pick-up number. 

📱 A Few Important Reminders

Please remember:

• Cell phones and personal electronic devices should be turned off and put away.
• Snacks should be individual-sized and should not be shared due to health and safety concerns.
• Make sure you are signed up to receive school messages so you don’t miss important information throughout the year.

Our entire Northeast team is committed to making this a joyful, safe, inclusive, and engaging school year where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine.

We are ready. We are excited. And most importantly, we are ALL IN for our students! 🖤🧡
