Welcome Letter from the Principal

Dear Northeast Families,

🎉 Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Northeast! 🎉

We’re absolutely thrilled to kick off another exciting year of learning, growth, and community. Since June, our dedicated staff has been hard at work planning an incredible year, and we can’t wait to get started!

One of our favorite parts of last year was connecting with you—our amazing families! This year, we’re bringing back even more Family Nights, student showcases, and opportunities for you to be a part of the Northeast experience. Don’t miss our Principal’s Coffee Hour, where you’ll enjoy great conversation, light breakfast treats, and a chance to connect with our leadership team about all things Northeast.

We’re also proud to offer an outstanding lineup of Specials! Every student will dive into our hands-on STEAM class, explore creativity in art and music, and get moving in physical education, where teamwork and healthy habits are front and center. We're especially excited to introduce music this year—just one more way we’re enriching the student experience.

Northeast continues to lead the way in creating a positive and inclusive school culture. Programs like PBIS, Stars Viking Values, Restorative Circles, and Social-Emotional Learning will continue to help our students grow into thoughtful, respectful, and resilient individuals. Through Playworks, students build friendships and practice problem-solving skills—all through the power of play.

🚗 Morning drop-off begins at 8:10 AM. For safety reasons, please keep students in your vehicle until staff members signal it’s time to exit. K–2 students will head to the cafeteria, and grades 3–5 will report to the gym.

🚙 Afternoon pickup numbers will be distributed at Open House. You’ll need a number starting August 25th to pick up your child in the car line.

📅 Mark your calendars: Our Open House is Tuesday, August 19th, from 5:30–7:00 PM! Come meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom, and get all the info you need to start the year off strong.

📵 A few important reminders: Cell phones and personal devices are not permitted at school. Snacks should be individual-sized and not shared for health and safety reasons.

 

Make sure you're signed up to receive school messages so you don’t miss any important updates! This year, we’re excited to introduce Class Dojo as a new way to stay connected with families. Through Dojo, we’ll share classroom updates, reminders, and photos from school events. You’ll receive an invitation and instructions on how to sign up at Open House—we’re looking forward to using this new tool to build even stronger connections between school and home!

Our entire Northeast team is committed to creating a joyful, safe, and engaging learning environment where every student thrives. We’re excited, ready, and can’t wait to see all the amazing things your child will accomplish this year!
